Beale Half Marathon – September 14, 2018
I do not normally “bark” about myself directly, but today I am going to, because I am actually pretty happy with myself! Located about 60 miles Northeast of Sacramento, it was, at one time, the most important mining town in the state of California. Today, many of the buildings are on the Register of Historic Places. Two years ago today, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, I was grocery shopping. Usually, I am a very good shopper. I go up and down every aisle, paying attention to sales, new products, items I never knew I needed. On this particular day, my attention was not on my shopping. I was glued to my phone. Hot Dog! It’s Friday the 13th!
What do hot dogs and Friday the 13th have in common? Not much, because Friday the 13th is supposed to be bad luck, and well, there is just nothing bad about a hot dog, ever, in my opinion. Airports, road trips, weddings, cruise ships, haunted cities and historic hotels,,,this has been a crazy (in a good way) week or two!
